Phyllis F. O'Brien

Phyllis Frances O’Brien, 81, a former long-time Janesville resident  passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Merrill Hills Manor in Waukesha, WI where she had resided the past two months. Phyllis was born in Delavan, WI on July 11, 1931, the daughter of Carmen and Leona (Hidalgo) Terrones. She grew up in Beloit where she graduated from Beloit Memorial High School. Phyllis married Eugene “Curly” O’Brien on April 21, 1956 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Beloit. Phyllis was employed by the Wisconsin Telephone Company for 32 years starting as an operator and when she retired was working as a supervisor. She was a member of the A T & T Pioneers. Following the death of her husband, Eugene, who died March 2, 2008,  Phyllis moved to New Berlin, WI to be closer to her niece, Deborah Wallendal who looked after her as her health failed.
Surviving are three brothers, Jesse Terrones, James Terrones, Antonio Terrones, godchildren, J. R. Hill and Jill Maunz, many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Padilla, John Terrones, Margaret Martinez and Bernard Terrones.
Per Phyllis’ request, no formal services will be held. Private entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum, Janesville. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
